My career started in flooring, where I learned the value of the right tool for the right job. Over the years, I worked with everything from binding and serging rugs to tile, carpet, pavers, slab work, and water damage restoration. Along the way, I was exposed to nearly every tool and technique used to get the job done.

When I became involved in concrete, I noticed something that stood out: the industry had advanced in many areas, but one of the most important hand tools remained largely unchanged. Much of the work was still built around a wheelbarrow, a shovel, and a lot of physical effort.

The challenge I focused on was one of the most demanding tasks in the trade: hand screeding. The 2x4 has been used for generations for a reason. Experienced finishers understand its feel, its nuances, and the control that comes from working with their hands directly. Those qualities matter, and I didn't want to take them away.

Instead, I wanted to improve the relationship between the worker and the tool.

ScreedBars^TM were created to give the worker more control over the straightedge, rather than forcing the worker to adapt to the straightedge. It preserves the feel and technique finishers rely on while providing better leverage, improved ergonomics, and a more natural way to work.
